Workforce Inc. is seeking an Underground Production Geologist for a local client in the Timmins area. The ideal candidate would have 1-5 years of underground production experience, preferably with gold and be living in or willing to travel to Timmins, ON. Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Senior Production Geologist, the Production Geologist will manage ore control for the Geology department by safely and efficiently collecting, recording, and reporting on underground geological data along with working according to set standards, processes, procedures, and plans
  • Geological and grade control data collection, geological modelling, and grade control estimations
  • Map underground development and track ore movement
  • Track and report on ore grades
  • Maximize the value out of the ore body during grade control to optimize the value in the processing plant (mill)
  • Log drill core as required
  • Design diamond drill layouts as required
  • Assist or complete monthly grade reconciliations as required
  • Mentor and train the workforce in grade control processes
  • Work cooperatively with other mine departments according to mine production plans
  • Carry out routine reporting and administrative duties as required
  • Take part in staff meetings as required

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Geology degree, or Diploma in Geology Technician/Technologist, or combination of tertiary education and experience
  • Registration or the ability to register as a Professional Geoscientist of Ontario would be an asset
  • 1+ years mining or mine related work experience is required
  • Valid G Class Driver’s Licence or equivalent and own reliable transportation considered an asset
  • Computer skills including MSOffice Suite and proficiency in computer systems related to this role and level of work (AutoCAD/Amine, DataMine, and other related programs)
  • Past underground experience will be heavily valued
  • Production experience would be an asset
