DZ Licensed Drivers

$25/ hour to start and during Driver Aided Training, $25.50 after positive 3mth review, $26/hour after 1year with positive supervisory review, Top Rate - $27.50 with positive supervisory review (Progression can be accelerated with direct foodservice experience)

Reports to: Transportation Supervisor

• Eligibility for Group Health & Dental, RRSP, DPSP, paid sick leave, and boot allowance after a positive 3 month review

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create the best customer experience
• Conduct yourself with pride and excellence in what you do!
• Deliver product to customer in a timely manner
• Collect and be accountable for monies and accuracy (Credits, C.O.D’s & Invoices)
• Provide friendly customer service and develop relationships
• Daily pre-use inspection of vehicle and any unsafe conditions reported immediately to Transportation Supervisor
• Responsible and safe driving of company vehicles
• Complete vehicle operators log daily
• Report to work on time and be in uniform

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Accountable for ensuring the safe operation of company vehicles and that preventative maintenance for the vehicles has been completed.

MACHINE AND TOOL OPERATION:

· Company vehicles, Hand Truck, Pallet Jack and Aluminum Walk Ramps

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking, Prolonged standing, Lifting, bending, twisting, Good hand/ eye coordination
• Physically fit and enjoy and active career (A bona-fide requirement of this position is to be able to lift up to 40 kg at any point during the work shift)

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Good knowledge of and follow all safety policies, rules, regulations as required by the company and legislation including the Highway Traffic Act
• Maintain vehicles in a clean operational condition
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, rules and regulations as required by the company and legislation.
• Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
• Report any workplace hazards to JHSC and your Supervisor
• Ensure correct handling and storage of all tools, product, chemicals, equipment

KNOWN HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION:

• Inclement weather and Highway traffic
• Rolling or accidental dropping of material – required PPE (Steel toe work boots)
• Muscle strain – required to practice safe lifting as instructed and do warm ups before shift

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• DZ License Mandatory
• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience with heavy equipment
• Clean CVOR and Abstract strongly preferred as our Risk Management company will pre-qualify drivers prior to employment offer.
