Empowering Youth Employment Readiness (EYER)

The EYER program connects passionate, qualified candidates with local employers in their fields of interest. EYER has connected students with opportunities across various industries and roles, including childcare, automotive and mechanic services, general labour, administrative roles, and more.

The program runs for a total of 16 weeks.
Upon your completion of a training program at Regesh during the first 4 weeks, you will be prepared and qualified to embark on your 12 week professional placement in your field of choice. The EYER staff help you find and apply to roles; our goal is to empower you and get you on track for your career goals. * You are paid both for the job placement and the prep course. *

Regesh is committed to working with you to ensure a win-win situation for you and your employer. We support you at every step of the job search journey. EYER helps you improve both professionally and personally. Our 4 week paid employment readiness course covers financial literacy, teamwork, and job skills, as well as self-esteem and anger management.
Free counselling is available throughout the course and subsequent 12 week placement as well. EYER's unique combination of professional training, mental health support, and professional connections set you on a path to success. See below for further program details.

You don't pay, we pay you to learn and work!
12 weeks of placement in your desired field
30+ hours per week
25 hours at minimum wage per week reimbursed by the EYER program – we partially cover your wage
Free support services available to you during your placement
Assistance in facilitating and managing communication with your employer as needed

Financial structure
Not only can you join the EYER program at no cost to you, you make money throughout the program. This includes the 4 week employment readiness course and your paid 12 week professional placement. Here's how it all works.

4 WEEK COURSE

The course runs Monday – Thursday for 4 weeks.
You earn $15/hour to attend class.
Classes run for 4 hours/day + 1 hour for lunch (unpaid).
Classes begin at 10:00AM at Regesh's office (149 Willowdale Ave).

12 WEEK REIMBURSED EMPLOYMENT

Our goal is to help you obtain a job working at least 30 hours weekly.
You earn at least minimum wage at your job
EYER covers your wage for 25 hours/week at minimum wage
Hours and pay may vary per job, but those outlined above are the baseline.
You earn a bonus in the form of a $200 gift card upon completing your 12 week placement.
We reimburse your employer for 12 weeks, but we hope that you stay on with the employer for the long term

Salary: $15.50 per hour
