The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the site quality control program. The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions with the overall objective of creating and sustaining a quality conscious environment. This position is for a multi-discipline Quality Lead.

Accountabilities:

1. Enforce the requirements of the Construction Quality Control program (including the processing of any required revisions) and other project quality and technical requirements.
2. Review and become familiar with the project technical requirements, applicable codes, standards and specifications.
3. Monitor project and construction execution by regular surveillance and formal planned audits. Ensure the issuance of Quality Audit Reports to appropriate parties and the follow up and closure of audit findings.
4. Determine the need for inspection tools and equipment and establish proper calibration parameters for these items.
5. Interface with Supplier Quality Surveillance to develop a surveillance plan of vendors and suppliers to determine the conformance of project design.
6. Ensure that construction quality programs and plans are being reviewed and appraised. This includes identification of appropriate hold or witness points on the contractors inspection and test plans (ITPs) and identifying interfaces with the client.
7. Verify that construction quality control activities (both Contract Management and self perform) are being reviewed, audited and assessed to ensure that they comply with project requirements.
8. Ensure that a nonconformance control procedure is implemented to control nonconforming work activities or hardware. This includes identification of trends and determining root cause so as to prevent recurrence.
9. Attend weekly meetings with contractors to review quality issues.
10. Review NDE results to verify compliance with contractual requirements.
11. Inspection of construction activities including; Civil works, mechanical, structural, Tanks and Piping.
12. Review and audit turnover documentation

To be Considered Candidates:

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Basic Job Requirements

1. A Technical or Engineering technology diploma is preferred.
2. Ten (10) years of QA/QC work experience
3. Experience working with multi-discipline teams.
4. CWB Level 2

Preferred Qualifications

1. Certification by a recognized authority (i.e. CWB, API, NACE) is required.
2. Structural Steel/Rebar experience/ civil experience/ tank fabrication/ pressure vessel/pressure piping/ Marine works
3. CSA W47/59 and ASME B31.3 code endorsements
4. API510, API570, API653, API 936 certification required
5. Personnel who will be performing welding inspection or reviewing radiographs must be capable of completing Fluor’s internal certifications for visual inspectors and radiographic interpreters.
6. Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of work processing, email, spreadsheets and electronic presentations.
7. Fluent in English, with above average writing skills.
8. Very good oral and written communication skills.
9. Ability to establish a team environment and to be able to work well with others.
10. Valid driver’s license.

LNGC Rotational Schedule:
This position is open to local candidates on a 5X2 schedule or on a 14X7 rotational basis with charter hubs out of Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver.
