Amsted Automotive Group, Means Transform Products, London, is seeking a Quality Engineer.

Under direction of the Quality Manager, provide team guidance and participation, generate, complete and maintain documentation, and communicate internally and externally in response to quality related matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Issues internal and external CARs, follow up to ensure closure, updating CAR database system
  • Respond to and follow up external customer concerns and Corrective Action Requests (example: GM PRR process, Ford QR process)
  • Reviews and approves supplier PPAP’s
  • Creates and completes customer PPAP’s
  • Assists in development of PFMEA/Control Plan, conduct or assist in maintenance of PFMEA including but not limited to reviews
  • Liaises with purchasing for the development and evaluation of supplier services & issue, follow up and closure of corrective actions
  • Analyzes Datamyte data and make recommendations for process adjustments / improvements
  • Performs internal audits to applicable standards
  • Evaluate product results and communicate suitability within the organization
  • Support the APQP process

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Post-secondary certificate / diploma or equivalent in work experience
  • Certification through American Society Quality Engineering a definite asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field (including APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, AIAG Core Tools within Automotive or Manufacturing environment required)
  • Must possess working knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
  • Understanding of metrology and limitations a minimum requirement
  • Must possess solid computer skills in Microsoft Office, and related programs (quality software applications including PCDMIS, Minitab, MPACT, Datamyte Quantum a definite asset)
  • Knowledge of GD&T and experience applying principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in automotive and/ or manufacturing environment
  • Effective interpersonal / communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive motion tasks
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds short distances infrequently
  • Flex shift hours may be required to support role responsibilities over 3 shift operation
  • Office, manufacturing, outdoor environment
  • Wears personal protective equipment as prescribed
