Recreation Workers – Summer Student Positions
(Child and Youth Workers)
We are seeking up to five Recreation Workers to perform work over the summer in support of a variety of recreation programs in our community with special interest and experience with children and youth. These positions are responsible for and/or provide assistance in planning and implementing recreation programs for all ages. The successful applicants will have knowledge of the fundamentals of program leadership and experience in instruction of a wide variety of programs for all ages, including children and youth. Individuals will facilitate and/or support drop-in & sports programs, camps, afterschool programs, wellness and physical literacy, outdoor activities, special events, youth mentorship and/or youth centre programs and volunteer development.
The successful candidates will have completed grade 12 supplemented by courses related to the work, plus experience; or an equivalent combination of training experience. You must be willing to work various shifts, Monday through Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm as scheduled.
The term for these positions is June until the end of August (to be confirmed)
***These positions are partially funded by the Government of Canada Summer Jobs 2023 Program which stipulates that all applicants must be under 30 years old and available to work full-time hours July - August***
Child Youth Worker $20.35 (+10% in lieu of benefits)
