This positon reports jointly to the Patient Care Manager of our 2E Medicine Program (0.5FTE) and the Manager of Collaborative Practice and Education (0.5FTE).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The role of the Clinical Dietitian is to provide evidence-based, high quality, specialized nutritional care unique to each individual as part of their medical treatment to improve or maintain health
  • The specific role of Registered Dietitian with both 2E and the Health Disciplines Resource Team (HDRT) will be to work as the dedicated Registered Dietitian on our 2E Medicine Unit, as well as, to alongside the fulltime float Registered Dietitian to provide coverage/backfill across various inpatient units for planned/unplanned absences and high priority consults to off-service units.
  • Able to work effectively as a member of an inter-professional team, collaborating with other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Contributes to the academic mandate of the organization as an educator, resource or support for staff, students and members of the academic and professional community
  • Identifies and addresses educational needs for patients and their families
  • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Is committed to, and participates in, program development, evaluation and ongoing quality improvement in the organization
  • Provides patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standards


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have graduated from an accredited and recognized program with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Nutrition, or equivalent
  • Must be currently registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to and involvement with own profession
  • Must have inpatient hospital experience across various medicine units and practice areas

Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as directed by the Unit/Program.
