Opportunities are available in Obstetrics/Labour & Delivery, Operating Room/Post Anesthesia Recovery Room, Day Procedures, Intensive Care, Emergency, Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Dialysis, Float Pool, Home Care, Public Health and Community Health.

Competitive Compensation

Holding the most competitive salary in the country, our Registered Nurses (RN) and Community Health Nurses (CHN) both respectively earn a salary range of:

• RNs: $ 95,784 – $114,426/year or $49.12 - $58.68/hr
• CHNs: $104,910 – $125,307/year or $53.80 - $64.26/hr

In addition to the above, we offer multiple generous allowances:

• Northern Living Allowance: Community dependent, this can range from $3,700 - $41,053/year, pro-rated
• Nursing Station Allowances: This rate is dependent on being employed in an eligible community’s health centre, ranging from an additional $4500 - $9000/year, pro-rated
• Academic Allowance: This is an extra $100/month for holding a bachelor’s degree (term and indeterminate contracts)

The Government of the Northwest Territories also offers overtime and shift premium earnings, when in an eligible nursing position.

Convenience & Flexibility

We are looking to hire nurses in all areas of specialization through casual contracts ranging from 5 days to up to 6 months.

Job Share, term and indeterminate job opportunities are also available.

Casual Employment: Your travel days (one day pay each way), flights in and out of the community are covered as well as accommodations up to 10 days.

Term and Indeterminate Employment: A robust relocation package is available, covering flights for yourself and dependents, as well as the movement of your belongings. A comprehensive benefits package is also included, covering health, dental and a generous pension.

Labour Market Supplement

By signing a term or indeterminate contract, you will receive a supplement upon hire, and an additional supplement at the same rate after completing 12 months of continuous service in an eligible nursing position! Community breakdown and rates are:

• Yellowknife: $5000
• Inuvik & Fort Smith: $6000
• All Other NWT Communities: $7000
