Registered Nurse, Transitional Care Unit
Permanent Part Time at 1 or 2 shifts per week

On behalf of a major hospital in central Toronto, Carecor is currently seeking 27 Registered Nurses for direct hire with your choice of part-time or full-time permanent jobs with our client that is a large hospital located near Hwy 401 and Bathurst in central Toronto.

While Carecor is a known nursing agency, all these opportunities are direct hire employment our loyal hospital client that has hired about 30 staff from us in the last two years.

About the Employer

  • This is hospital in central Toronto has been established for several decades, and easily accessible off Highway 401, and provides low-cost parking. There is also a TTC stop in front of the main building.
  • This is Direct Employment with our Hospital Client in North West Toronto, and not an Agency job.
  • Their Transitional Care Unit (TCU) has an opportunity for a REGISTERED NURSE, PERMANENT PART-TIME Positions
  • ONA Hourly Pay Rate: $34.24 - $49.02, with HOOPP & Vacation
  • The Transitional Care unit (TCU) provides care for patients who are awaiting discharge to an alternative level of care setting and prepares them for discharge. The philosophy of the unit is to maintain health, wellness and function while awaiting placement in an appropriate client centered environment.
Responsibilities include:
  • Utilizes sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, works as clinical expert and resource and provides comprehensive, quality client and family centered health care services from admission, through transfer and discharge
  • Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medications, as well as treatments which fall within the RN’s scope of practice
  • Provides client-centered care within interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation and spiritual needs of clients
  • Participates actively as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and nursing students
Compensation
  • Hourly Range: $34.24 - $49.02, per ONA
  • Vacation

  • One (1) Permanent Part-time Day, alternative weekends, 15 Hours Bi-weekly
  • One (1) Permanent Part-time Evening, alternative weekends, 30 Hours Bi-weekly
  • One (1) Permanent Part-time Night, alternative weekends, 30 Hours Bi-weekly

Job Qualification

Qualifications
  • Current registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario (‘CNO’) is required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (‘BCLS’) certificate, Level C - Automated External Device (‘AED’) is required
  • BScN preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to take professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing and delegating care activities for clients and families
  • Psychogeriatric experience, i.e. mental health assessment and intervention and working with responsive behaviours preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills – Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
