Job Information

The coordinator communicates, markets, and promotes research initiatives, successes, events, and outcomes using a variety of platforms and materials. Theincumbent cultivates a strong understanding of the research activities taking place both at Aurora College, and with research partners across the NWT. The incumbent actively solicits and pursues opportunities to publicize these activities to promote research activities to NWT residents and enhance the reach and impact of institutional research. The Coordinator also develops communication plans to promote NWT research activities, and provides advice on communications processes, materials, and events to Aurora College researchers (faculty, staff, and partnered researchers).

Through your work, the Coordinator will foster an institutional culture that prioritizes the dissemination, communication, and sharing of information related to research, to increase the reach and impact of institutional research. The incumbent works closely with Aurora College faculty and researchers, as well as the Facilitator, Research Development, and members of the Office of Communications.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Public Relations and three years’ experience in communicating science and/or research, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline with three years’ experience in communications
