DDP Technology Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Route Driver/Electrical Inspector assistant to join our growing team. We are an established company who performs utility inspection and maintenance services for utility companies across Southern Ontario.

No previous experience is required, as we provide all necessary training. However, any experience in the Electrical field (especially working with high voltage) or an Electrical Engineer Technician/Technology certificate would be considered an asset.

The expectations and responsibilities of the Route Driver/Electrical Inspector assistant are as follows:

  • Be comfortable driving into Toronto (including downtown core) and surrounding areas daily
  • Use GPS and maps to locate addresses and asset information
  • Ensure transportation to and from work sites is performed in a safe and timely manner
  • Perform and share duties with the Lead hand/Inspector at traffic set up as per Book 7 and/or the Traffic Plan
  • Assisting the Lead hand/Inspector with any duties assigned by them
  • Anticipate and report any hazards observed while on the work site and share any and all information to the Lead hand/inspector that pertains to the work being performed or hazards to the public or environment

Qualifications and Skills

  • Applicant must have a valid G2 or G class license with a minimum of one-year driving experience
  • Provide a clean driver's abstract and Police check
  • Be comfortable driving in inclement weather, such as light snow and rain
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Complete daily maintenance checks on vehicle and notify manager of any issues
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must have your own CSA Approved Work Boots. Any additional required PPE will be provided for you.

First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, and Working at Heights certifications would also be considered an asset; however, training may be provided for the right individual.

Applicant's must be able to work four 11-hour shifts per week, and be comfortable driving to locations across the Greater Toronto Area.

A comprehensive benefit package and RRSP will be offered. Wage will be reviewed after 6 months probation period.
