Job Summary

The Safety Manager will be responsible for organizing and managing all safety programs and related compliance for Titanium's fleet of 800 trucks and 3000 trailers operating across nine different locations across Ontario.

Candidate requirements & qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in fleet operations.
  • Experience working with government agencies, MOE, MOL, POLICE, and local city and fire officials.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work with business operations in a safety-first culture.
  • Self-directed and decision-maker
  • Ability to handle crises well.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Some travel to our Ontario terminals is required.
  • Able to effectively work with maintenance and operations management.

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage safety staff.
  • Have extensive knowledge of industry rules and regulations.
  • Actively liaise with the maintenance department.
  • Gain knowledge of Titanium's internal safety programs, working directly with Operations Management
  • Work through regulatory audits (audit experience is considered an asset)
  • Have direct communication with Titanium company drivers and owner/operators.
  • Have strong dispute-resolution skills.
  • Advise on the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and non-conformances while making recommendations for corrective actions

Preferred qualifications include:

  • College/University degree
  • Certificate course in safety
  • A-Z License or previous road experience.
  • Customs knowledge
  • Desire for future job progression
