What you will do

  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
  • Complete assigned ULC, Fire, Security, CCTV and Card Access inspections on time.
  • Complete service inspection Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computer.
  • Make minor repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The Technician will be responsible for (if required):
  • Locate and inspect equipment required as per customer’s contract.
  • Ensure ULC certificates are kept updated
  • Test appropriate signals into the monitoring station.
  • Capable of Working on customers networks in conjunction with their IT personnel.
  • Training of the end user on systems if required.
  • Such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor/Manager

What we look for

Required

Education:

  • High school diploma / College Diploma, Certificates
  • Electronic Technician Certificate
  • Computer Networking Courses and proficiency.
  • Dedication to upgrading and continuing their education

Experience :

  • Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of security experience or equivalent.
  • ULC familiarity would be a definite asset

Skills:

  • Must be computer literate, have networking ability and a good knowledge of Computer operating systems
  • Mechanical competence and be able to use hand and power tools
  • Proficient English language written and verbal skills, proven outstanding people and telephone skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential
  • Customer Service Experience
  • The ability to meet deadlines and commitments and to adjust/adapt to new ideas and procedures is necessary

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be bondable – criminal record check required and other
  • security clearance as required.
  • Company vehicle provided for company use only (includes gas/maintenance). Driver’s abstract will be required.
  • Flexibility with hours
