Winpak Portion Packaging Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of quality rigid plastic packaging for the food and beverage industry, located in the northwest area of Toronto. Winpak operates a busy, unionized facility working 24 hours, 5 days per week. We are currently looking for a Select Packer.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, with day-to-day direction from the Plant Manager, the Select Packer is primarily responsible for visually inspecting, selecting and packing quality product, ensuring traceability and correct packaging of the product in a safety and efficient manner while maintaining quality standards.

Major Responsibilities:

• Cleans and wipes down the packing table, as necessary, at start up (changeover, PM, extended downtime).
• Packs product according to specifications.
• Visually inspects rows of cups per quality standards.
• Picks out any defective product per the non-conforming procedure. Informs operator and Supervisor of the problem.
• Sleeves product, tapes sleeves and places divider in box as instructed by the operator or supervisor.
• Packs and stamps each box with the packer identification.

· Maintains a clean and organized work area and report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

· Must be able to work all shifts (days/afternoons/nights)

· Must have basic math and communication skills

· Must be physically able to carry 35 pounds

· Must have manual dexterity and fine motor skills
