Located in the heart of downtown Sydney, hk CPA is a public accounting firm specializing in accounting advisory services, assurance, corporate tax compliance, as well as trust, estate, and succession planning. They have an exclusive opportunity for a highly professional and detail-oriented individual to join their firm as a Senior Accountant(Manager).

The successful candidate will need to have an undergraduate degree and have completed their CPA Designation. They will need to be able to provide excellent customer service to small and mid-size private business clients and support the work of the community-focused and family-oriented hk CPA team.

We are seeking an excellent communicator with impeccable interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage deadlines and workflow. The candidate must be able to maintain a high level of discretion and integrity in handling private information. The successful candidate must also be a self-starter and have excellent problem-solving skills.

As a Senior Accountant(Manager), your key responsibilities will be:

• Preparing financial statements in accordance with assurance standards for a variety of small and mid-size businesses
• Communicating, both written and verbal, with clients, government agencies and internal team members
• Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
• Supporting and engaging with audit processes – internal and external
• Assisting with the development and implementation of formalized accounting and reporting policies
• Assisting in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives, impacting accounting and reporting
• Providing advice and training to junior staff members

Our client is offering you:

• Annual compensation for this position is $60K-100K based on experience

What you need to succeed:

• You have your CPA Designation and have experience working in a public accounting firm
• You have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
• You are a clear communicator
• You are technology-savvy and can switch between several applications easily
• You believe in delivering stellar customer service and you have experience in a customer-facing role
• You can function efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
• You like working in a fast-paced environment
• You are methodical and a problem solver
• You have experience with various online accounting/bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks and Sage

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• An undergraduate degree
• Must have CPA Designation
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a public practice accounting firm
• Experience working with small to mid-size private business clients is considered an asset
• Management experience is an asset
