Responsibilities:
- Participates in and contributes to requirement definition working sessions, specification development and solution design
- Guides junior technical team members within the project/product team. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
- Writes supporting and configuration documentation, or guides team members in delivering technical documentation.
- Provides input to QA team on application testing
- Pinpoints strengths and weaknesses of various design alternatives and selects or recommends appropriate solutions
- Proactively suggests alternative methods or resources for getting work done when obstacles arise
- Provides work estimates for their own development tasks and verifies work estimates of others
- Reviews systems for completion and system performance objectives
- Stays up to date with new technology and shares new trends and techniques with colleagues
- Coaches and mentors staff on the team by elevating their scope of knowledge and breadth in aspects of design and development best practices
- Conduct investigation of the defects, logging details and following defects through their resolution lifecycle.
- Perform code reviews and walkthroughs of system design and developed code.
- 5+ years of software development and system integration
- Knowledge of Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code, and/or Eclipse Experience with a variety of application servers and frameworks (e.g., WebLogic, Tomcat, Spring, …. etc.)
- Experience developing in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Angular, Node.JS, etc. Experience with version control systems such as Team Foundation Server, Subversion, and Git
- Experience with DevOps build, CI/CD workflows, Jenkins and GIT
- Experience with Code Profiling and Performance investigation and tuning
- Experience with JavaScript / jQuery / AJAX
- Experience with XML / JSON
- Experience with RESTful API's
- Experience with CSS / Bootstrap
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React is an asset
- Experience with MS Azure or AWS is an asset
- Experience with Test Driven Development is an asset
- Demonstrated experience with Identity and Access Management technologies Experience with OpenID Connect, OAuth and SAML protocols and Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms (Oracle IDM, ForgeRock, Ping, Okta, etc.) Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Knowledge of software development and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Good written and oral communication skills - must be able to communicate technical direction, discuss and incorporate stakeholder's feedback, and communicate issues found and solutions clearly
- Excellent data analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary
- Ability to develop and perform standard application unit testing Excellent debugging, problem-solving, organizational, analytical skills
- Familiar with software security principles
- Demonstrated knowledge of relational database development techniques
- Knowledge in system administration and networking (ie: Windows Server, IP protocols)
