Senior Financial Analyst (8-month Term) Job at Royal Canadian Mint
The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue & Cost, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible to provide ongoing analytical support for Financial Planning and Analysis activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as financial business partner and maintain strong relationships with divisional and business line partners.
- Assist in the development of the business budgets, forecasts, and the annual Corporate Plan while working closely with operational contacts in the business ensuring integration with operational strategies and plans.
- Responsible for the timely analysis of the business financial results including monthly and quarterly explanations of variances vs. budget and forecast, and other ad hoc reports.
- In charge of coordinating the tendering process from receipt of the invitation to the presentation of the offer. Ensure that the Mint’s response meets the tender specifications and is delivered within the project timeline.
- Lead analyst in the maintenance of the Variance Analysis model including updating for new products and prices. Responsible for high level tracking on Foreign sales contracts, and analysis of project performance.
- Action other responsibilities as assigned, including projects or initiatives to ensure successful delivery on FP&A objectives.
Requirements
- University degree in related area
- CPA designation preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of related business experience
- Strong Microsoft DAX knowledge
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to synthesize large amounts of data; attention to detail; ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines; and strong work ethic
- Success with analyzing costing data and making sound business recommendations
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; demonstrated success communicating with financial and non-financial individuals
- Strong background in business processes
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
