We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Director, Global Financial Planning & Analysis, as part of Global FP&A team. You will be responsible for providing analytical support for McCain Foods Ltd.’s consolidated financial plans, forecasts and actual results to ensure accuracy and clarity of understanding of key business drivers, with accountability for planning and analyzing specific KPIs and supporting regions in the development of their plans and forecasts. The individual will be responsible for all key financial metric assessment across key financials (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow). In addition, this role will be pivotal in the implementation of automated reports.


Role is hybrid with 2 days in our Toronto, ON office.


How You’ll Add Value:


  • Provide analytical support for McCain’s monthly, quarterly and annual financials. Assist in collecting global business analysis and insights on a monthly basis from regions and countries. Identify risks and opportunities based on actuals and forecasts and follow up with regions and countries.
  • Support in the consolidation of global financial plans, including the annual operating commitment (budget), quarterly forecasts and long term strategic plans.
  • Assist in the planning of global functions and analysis processes, including monthly analysis and risk and opportunity development/assessments. Identify key drivers of performance.
  • Develop and consolidate the MFL balance sheet and cash flows for plans and forecasts.
  • Support presentation development and Board materials for financial reviews, and monthly/ad hoc analysis to support the global CFO, CEO and Senior Director FP&A; support creation of Regional templates for QBRs.
  • Consolidate and analyze balance sheet and cash flow including consolidated adjustments
  • Produce consolidated key KPI’s metrics (ROIC, RONA and others).
  • Assist in the development of standardized reporting templates for regional presentations.
  • Provide support to the regional teams in loading/submitting financial plans for consolidation.
  • Support the annual operating commitment process.


About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance along with CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of financial analysis or accounting experience
  • Very strong technical, analytical and systems skills; (Excel, Access, Power Point)
  • Experience with One Stream would be an asset (but not required)
  • Exposure to executive presentations and reporting, and business issue analysis
  • Consumer products, foods and/or manufacturing experience a definite plus
  • Solid applied understanding of general financial analysis concepts such as margin analysis, ROI, DCF, capital evaluation
  • Working knowledge of currency reporting
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with leveraging technology and MS office applications to streamline processes
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships, manage conflict and embrace change
  • Ability to apply broad business perspectives and experiences to identify opportunities/risks.
  • Business acumen: can explain the story behind the numbers and recommend solutions
  • Exceptional communicator and business partner
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills
  • Result oriented, hands on, highly motivated, and autonomous
  • Displays self-awareness and ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Fluency in a language other than English: (Spanish, French, Mandarin) is a plus (but not a necessity).
