We are looking for you, a Senior Level Mechatronic Technician, or Intermediate Technologist.

You will work with a talented and dedicated team of engineers and production staff to manufacture equipment for airbag testing and other vehicle occupant safety applications.

This full-time position is within the production group responsible for the fabrication, testing, and occasionally design of analog and digital electronic equipment as well as control & analysis applications software.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hardware module fabrication and testing including both mechanical and electronic/electrical

Mechanical:

  • Read drawings and fabricate prototype components according to drawing
  • Simple drawing generation and modification with SolidWorks

Electrical & electronic:

  • Read and understanding electronic/electrical schematic
  • Fabricate module according to schematic
  • Hardware-software integration testing
  • Systems level testing and troubleshooting
  • Perform installations and provide customer training
  • Technical support including direct customer contact
  • Travel to customer locations to perform system installations and equipment calibrations
  • Follow Production scheduling and planning

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of a 3-year Mechanical/Electronics Technician diploma or a 4-year university degree in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent
  • 3 to 7 years relevant work experience in mechatronic and/or electrical hardware related work
  • Good knowledge and working experience in hardware, both theory and application (analog, digital, industrial control and automation)
  • Good hands-on skill in general hand tool and power tool.
  • Good hand-on skill in electronics – soldering/desoldering component, repair, etc.
  • Good logical analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Solid Works is an asset
  • Experience with test systems and data acquisition is an asset
  • Experience with PLC hardware and software is an asset

This position is located at our Mississauga head office. Since Microsys test systems are installed throughout the world, there will be overseas travel about 3 to 6 times per year.
