Duties & Responsibilities:

· Manage on-going WAN operation: configuration, upgrades, recovery procedures and network related projects. Ensure network infrastructure meets security and compliancy policies.

· Maintain availability of 99.95% for core routers and switches.

· Provide pro-active network monitoring of core and customer connectivity. Monitor for errors, and service availability. Work with customers and vendors to resolve network related issues.

· High-level analysis and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.

· Install, maintain, manage, and support core, distribution, and access routing and switching infrastructure and maintain documentation.

· Provide a consultative role to customers to implement network topologies that provide the highest availability possible.

· Ensure effective capacity planning.

· Cross-training with other team members is required to ensure that all critical networking components can be recovered by any one individual.

· Comply with ITIL change management procedures & audit requirements.

· Execute BCP strategies for our customer network connections.

· Participate in implementing improvements to manual process to leverage the infrastructure and technologies for greater efficiencies.

· Work closely with customers to resolve network connection issues.

· 24/7 support coverage on a rotational basis. Overtime hours may be required to perform changes to the infrastructure

· Act as subject matter in tactical dept. projects.

Education, Training, Experience, Skills & Abilities:

· Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

· 8+ years’ experience in implementing, operating, and troubleshooting data networks

· Experience with Cisco routers (1800, 2800/2900, 3800)

· Experience with BGP and EIGRP implementation and troubleshooting

· Experience with Nexus, Catalyst, ISR Routers

· Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controller

· Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Fortinet Firewalls

· Experience with High-availability load-balancing experience (F5 BIG-IP)

· Experience with CISCO ACI, or similar software-defined network

· Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud networking, or other public cloud

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • implementing an SDN or SD WAN: 8 years (preferred)
  • F5 Load balancing: 8 years (preferred)
  • EIGRP network protocol: 8 years (preferred)
  • Sr Network Engineer: 10 years (preferred)
