Job Summary

The Information Management Branch (IMB) delivers a full suite of information management and technology services to the Ministry of Finance and Office of the Premier, as well as Government House, Ministers’ Offices, and a number of boards and commissions. In partnership with our clients, we deliver technology enabled business transformation; design, build and maintain business applications, operate the ministry’s service desk, and provide infrastructure planning, business process mapping, change management support, project management and investment planning as well as information technology security and privacy support. Although our work is centered on technology, our success comes from relationship building and a customer centric lens.

The Senior IM/IT Project Manager’s primary focus is managing multiple IM/IT projects with a strategic value which are controlled against defined business plans and budgets. As well as to provide project management services and plan ongoing business and technology needs consistent with government and ministry strategic plans, system standards and interfacing requirements. The Manager provides expert advice to senior staff and leads multiple project teams.

This position will manage human and financial resources, lead a diverse team of technical specialists, and manage the stakeholder consultation process.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or higher in computer science, business administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years progressive experience leading or managing complex IM/IT or business transformation projects.
  • Experience managing project teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in the development of business cases and/ or concept cases (e.g. feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, options papers).


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent or advanced project management training
  • ITIL Certification.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing IM/IT contracted services.
  • Experience working with Senior Executives (e.g. Executive Director and above).
