Reporting to the Operations Manager/Director, the Senior Technical Manager provides supervision, training coordination and quality control for staff in the Building Science & Sustainability group. They will be the principal contact for specific clients and are responsible for proposals issued by the group.


What you will be doing at Pinchin


  • Client Development and Marketing
  • Supervise, train and mentor junior staff, including the review of written work
  • Maintain and enhance quality control within the group
  • Budget creation and adherence, time management, cost tracking, scope of work definition, proposal preparation and presentation, and report and invoice preparation
  • Assign, collect and coordinate appropriate project resources (i.e. equipment, tools, materials, documentation, people etc.)
  • Organize and conduct project meetings
  • Inspect, design and administer remedial work
  • Prepare reports, summarize data and create CAD drawings
  • Financial Involvement in Projects
  • Any other job related duties that may be assigned from time to time


What you bring to the Pinchin team


  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Civil, Building Envelope or Structural Engineering or related discipline
  • P. Eng., CET or BSS
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with Building Condition Assessment/capital planning and building science consulting, and related work
  • Thorough knowledge of building science concepts
  • Previous experience with Building Envelope, Parking Garage and Balcony assessment and restoration
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Familiarity with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project related financial management
  • Experience with business development initiatives and client interaction
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance and personal vehicle required (work-related travel will be compensated)
