As an Employee of the Stone Peak Restaurant your role is greater than just preparing or delivering great tasting food to the table. Our mission is to create a place that is known for delicious food, where guests, and the community can come to socialize and dine. This means that you must both look and act the part of a professional server to instill confidence in the guests, many of whom are dining with us for the first time. You build the trust of our guests, and you provide clarity of what is about to begin. You are the one responsible for introducing the guest to our concept and experience by providing menu recommendations and accompanying beverage and extending to them the genuine hospitality that we want to invoke.

Server Job Description

The Server is responsible for the overall dining experience of each guest. The Server plays a key role in creating the guest experience and an environment where our guests feel relaxed and engaged. Be yourself, have fun and create a memorable and lasting impression whereby every one of our guests can’t wait to come back. Your passion for the guest experience is the cornerstone of our success.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of the restaurant including all products, menus and promotions – be able to relate all information in appealing and informative manner to all guests
  • Knowledge of all Banff Lodging properties including property information, amenities and hours of operation
  • Table service: taking orders, answering menu and beverage inquiries, explaining daily features, placing orders with kitchen while following all standards as it pertains to each task
  • Ensure food is presented with exceptional level of detail prior to delivering to guests
  • Delivery of food & beverage to tables in the dining room
  • Processing bills and taking payment
  • Handling guest concerns and queries with and without the support of the management team
  • Providing the highest quality of service at all times and in all guest interactions
  • Clearing, setting, polishing and cleaning tables, glassware & utensils
  • Preparation of dining room & service stands before, after & during each service
  • Cleanliness of dining room and greater property by adhering to procedures and checklists set out by the company
  • Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies
  • Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies
  • Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress
  • Answering phones and assisting guests with product, event, reservation and any other inquiries
  • Attend meetings and training seminars as required

Job Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment
  • Must meet minimum provincial age for serving alcohol
  • Minimum of 1 year related serving or customer service experience
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 30lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
  • Current and valid ProServe certification

Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 4-10 per week

Salary: From $15.00 per hour
