Social Work Summer Student Job at Elgin Counselling & Mediation Centre, Inc.
Complete intakes and address client concerns over the telephone as required. Engage with clients for individual and relationship counseling on a regular basis for the duration of the contract. Assist with facilitation of groups as necessary and appropriate, in both St. Thomas and Aylmer. Complete all necessary clinical documentation related to client contact. Clinical Social Work (or related field) experience is essential for this position.
Act as advocate and liaison for Elgin Counselling in the larger community, particularly with regard to educating the community about the services available at our counseling centre.
Provide coverage for the office manager during vacation periods.
Please note: It is our hope that the successful applicant could meet with the Social Work Interns completing their placements with the Centre in order to take over their caseload. This would allow for transfer of client information and perhaps even meetings with client for the purpose of continuity.

Salary: $17.00-$17.50 per hour
