The Role


There has never been a better time to join Seequent! Having recently joined the global Bentley Systems family, we are experiencing an exciting period of rapid growth and are looking for people who follow their passion and want to make an impact.

This position is based with our Sudbury Team with the potential to work remotely +/- 2 hours of Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, permanent role and we are flexible on the location it is based.

As a Software Tester, reporting into the Software Development Manager, you will work closely with Application Specialists, Support Analysts, Software Developers and Product Managers to define new features, find defects, and help drive feature development to completion.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with Application Specialists, Support Analysts, Software Developers, UI/UX Designers, Product Owners, Product Managers and Technical Writers
  • Ensure software defects are found, understood, documented and the subsequent fixes are retested
  • Assess the finished product regularly and report objective information back to the Software Development Manager in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Development Team to ensure that testability is part of new features and strategies for feature and system-wide testing are developed
  • Assist the Application Specialists and Support Analysts to provide prompt responses to escalated technical support requests that come in from the Technical Support Teams
  • Identify processes that need improvement and research data on the performance of software products, internal tools and the actual development process
  • Develop a constructive, internal customer relationship with other departments and ensure a positive and timely response to any issues requiring your assistance

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated quality assurance and software testing experience, preferably for web and/or mobile applications
  • Working experience using one or more of the following test methodologies: performance, security, reliability, automation, scalability, usability, scripted, acceptance
  • Ability to effectively analyze, document and communicate testing results - including risk and defect analysis
  • Capable of taking ownership of the testing and closure of stories to ensure every feature has high quality
  • Working knowledge of web and mobile applications
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starting ability with demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team
