Position: Soil Engineer CO-OP

Term: 8-12 months

Location: Milton (Travel to other Quarries required)

Start Date: May 2023


As a Soils intern/Co-op Coordinator you will work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment to complete a range of Engineering tasks and project co-ordination through the application of professional engineering principles and practices. You will have exposure to different areas within the group such as operations, approvals, sampling, fleet, dispatch and environmental. Your position will require you work closely with the Soil Superintendent, Soil Qualified person (EIT) and Soil Co-ordinator


What you will do:

  • Assist in and manage the active soil importation areas and operations at multiple sites
  • Assist in and collect samples at multiple sites both internal and external(customer jobsites)
  • Drive between locations as required in a company provided vehicle
  • Perform daily inspections and document them as required
  • Assist with the soil qualification process
  • Assist with market research data collection
  • Assist with preparing and delivering the market research project outcomes
  • Assist with performing volume import capacities of DFA sites
  • Assist with preparing and delivering volume import capacities for DFA sites
  • Develop SOPs and SWP for soil importation operations
  • Maintain a safe working environment by promoting a strong safety culture, enforcing all safety guidelines and ensuring compliance under legislation and Corporate requirements
  • Embed Corporate Social Responsibility in day to day thinking and actions


What you need to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or Mining Engineering program
  • Related experience (work or school)
  • Aptitude to learn
  • Valid full class G driver’s license.
