Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President, Brand Marketing & Communications for Canada, the Specialist, Brand Marketing and Communications will be responsible for the execution of strategies to enhance Gallagher’s objectives to ensure overall growth and consistency of the brand and reputation. This role will have a strong focus on digital, public relations, special events, and thought leadership development.


To be successful in this role, the candidate will bring passion, creative ideas and a “roll up your sleeves” demeanor for B2B marketing strategies and brand campaigns. Being highly diligent and organized will be vital. The successful candidate is a social media expert who has a proven understanding of how to optimize content for different audiences using various channels. Strong communication and project management skills, coupled with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are required.


Work Environment Hybrid (Agile) – We at Gallagher enjoy the benefits of working remotely while also collaborating and interacting with each other in the office. This role will be based in our downtown Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
Social Media
  • Carry out the 2023 and beyond social media strategy. Includes content creation, postings, monitoring and reporting in accordance with global brand and social media standards. Develop monthly social media dashboard and reporting. Coordination of social media during special events and conferences.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group LinkedIn profile building for sales producers and employees.
  • Act as a brand ambassador who encourages all employees to do the same.

Special Events and Conferences
  • Coordinate event logistics such as menu, venue coordination, material shipping. Knowledge of virtual event platforms is key.
  • Support with publicity, including public relations, advertising and collateral material design, printing, production and distribution.
  • Order marketing-related inventory including collateral, giveaways, booth/banners.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of the events and produce reports.
  • Some event attendance/travel will be required.

Media Relations
  • Provide support to the VP on media requests, drafting media briefs and maintaining media lists.

Other Marketing
  • Key marketing lead for Personal Lines on their marketing activities as they relate to print and digital.
  • Work with merger partner websites on digital transition to Gallagher.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, with 5 years meaningful experience in B2B marketing and/or insurance experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong writing skills are required.
  • Experience using Workfront or other project management software/applications.
  • Experience using Oktopost or other social media scheduling platform.
  • Client-centric and responsive approach.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic; able to operate independently and with minimal direction.
  • Analytic and strategic thinker with excellent time management and problem solving skills.
