Senior Data Developer, IDM

Position Summary
This role will help interpreting statistical and numerical data to assess and compare the safety and public care of the organization. This position will collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to understand different data analytics and reporting requirements. The individual in this position should have experience in building capacity for utilizing data to make data-informed decisions and drive action.
Key activities include but are not limited to create and manage database and data warehouse, maintain, improve, and optimize company’s data democratization and data integration pipeline, create and/or provision datasets, strengthen staff’s data and digital literacy skills, and lead the design, specification, and analysis of data solutions.

What you’ll do at OCP
  • Play a key strategic role by formulating creative ideas for leveraging the business’s wide collection of data in the databases
  • Establish scalable and accurate analytics systems across applications
  • Coordinate data collection with external partners and internally manage datasets
  • Design, model and support database and data warehouse to align with business visions and goals
  • Build and expand the data dictionary with data definitions, create and maintain a data inventory for the organization
  • Explore historical, real time and future information to deepen understanding of customer attitudes and behaviors
  • Provide relevant data-related reports to leadership, collaborative action networks, and key community stakeholders for decision-making, action planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical assistance and build understanding among partners about the effective use of data.
  • Clear on the purpose of data, how to capture, manipulate, interpret and apply it
  • Perform advanced business analysis with the help of several techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining
  • Produce and support reports and analysis using a range of data analytics tools
  • Be the data advocate and help enable the business to be power users
  • Develop systems and tools for effective data management, visualization and interpretation (systems design, dashboards, information graphics, mapping)
  • Ensure team is constantly building effective working relationships and developing data-fueled solutions
  • Drive data quality improvements and collaborative effort towards unified enterprise Business Intelligence services
  • Develop data strategy and build measurement framework, KPIs and data architecture
  • Offer insights to the team on leading data analytics practices, design, trends, learning, and development cycles that enhance the organization’s overall performance by improving data and analytics programs that give high-impact insights
  • Play a collaborative role from prototyping to production on analytics systems
  • Work with the key stakeholders to identify and prioritize impactful and actionable insights across the organization
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned

What we’re looking for
  • Proficiency in SQL and one of the following languages: R, Python, Matlab
  • Comfortable with ETL, integrations, field mappings, and other data dictionary responsibilities
  • Understanding and ability to build and support OLAP Cubes, Dimensional and Relational Data Models
  • Experience in creating, restructuring, and managing large datasets, files, and systems. Capable of design data mart or data warehouse with cloud services
  • Familiar with building sophisticated dashboards with tools like Power BI
  • Able to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and use mixed-method approaches to data analysis
  • Good at technical memos that document data processing decisions and summarize the quality of data
  • Experience on design, implementation, and enforcement of data infrastructure, security and system policies
  • Ability to communicate results of complex analytic findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytic, technical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical and data manipulation experience with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, VBA)
  • Excellent attention to detail and timelines
  • Experience performing statistical, time series, and cross-sectional analysis on large data sets a plus

What experience we prefer
  • Degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent.
  • Must have 7-10 years of related experience including data governance, data access management, data quality, data architecture, change and project management.
  • Experience in a regulatory or health care environment is an asset
  • Experience working with natural language processing, and working with machine learning libraries is an advantage
