Sr, Manager, Beauty Operations

We are seeking an experienced and driven candidate to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Beauty National Operations department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a cosmetics production team, implementing best practices, and driving process improvements to ensure efficient and effective production. The Sr, Manager, Beauty Operations will also be responsible for maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying performance gaps, providing guidance, information and direction to improve results. Primary focus will be on business building which includes eventing, makeup artistry and using all available sales tools and managing inventory and supply chain logistics.

What you’ll do:

  • Reporting directly to the Director, Beauty Operations, you will oversee all aspects of cosmetics manufacturing operations, including production planning, event scheduling, quality control and inventory management
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production processes
  • Manage and motivate the production team to meet performance goals, while fostering a culture of safety and quality excellence
  • Build positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging components
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new products and streamline production processes
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including ISO requirements
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with internal collaborators including sales, marketing, category, PR, social and customer service teams
  • Participate in pivotal initiatives and provide input on long-term business plans to support company growth and success
  • Building and leading diverse teams that foster a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging
  • Identifying gaps in current customer experience within beauty department
  • Influencing Beauty team on creating in store “Wow!” experiences to elevate the customer experience
  • Mentor and develop Beauty Operations teams with deeper exposure to the customer experience in order to build empathy, increasing intuition for the customer.
  • Provide support of in-store events as well as other promotional initiatives (both national and local) to drive incremental business in the beauty department annually

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in cosmetics manufacturing operations, with a proven track record of success in managing production teams and driving process improvements
  • Solid understanding of Health Canada and ISO requirements for cosmetics manufacturing
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics
  • Proficiency in using production planning and inventory management software
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze production metrics and identify areas for improvement
  • Coaching and makeup artistry skills
  • Eye for business - sophisticated understanding of quality standards relative to beauty, fashion industries and business growth
  • Professional mannerisms, tact, diplomacy, passion and discretion
  • Ability to exercise influence and empower diverse personalities and styles
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
  • Decision making to determine the best use of resources and operational processes.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
  • Communicates with clarity, verbally in one to one, group situations, and over the telephone
  • Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents. Editing and/or proof-reading is required
  • Digital literacy to produce and interpret reports, documents and presentations.
  • Knowledge of store systems to facilitate coaching and training as required
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field would be considered as an asset
