Structural Steel Welder

Trevco Steel Ltd. is a family owned and operated steel fabrication company based out of Erin, Ontario. Since 2004, we have provided contractors and developers with a variety of steel fabrication and installation services.

We are currently seeking a full-time Structural Steel Welder to become a member of our evening shift team. Trevco Steel Ltd. ensures its employees a work environment that is safe, secure and consistent all while being both challenging and rewarding.

Who You Are

• Have 1-2 years of experience with an overhead crane, current valid certification considered an asset.
• Have welding experience, current CWB ticket considered an asset.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings.
• Ability to understand weld symbols.
• Have experience in construction or an industrial environment.
• The ability to work well and communicate with others.
• The ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization skills, problem solving, integrity and task prioritization.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Consistently and reliably work scheduled hours.

What You Do

• Identify steel shapes, sizes, and mill tolerances.
• Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).
• Weld together structural, plate or miscellaneous steel fabrication according to the weld symbols, weld procedures, dimensions shown on the shop drawings, and CISC code requirements.
• Preheat and/or cut work pieces using a hand torch when required. Clean welds of excess weld, splatter or slag using chipping hammers, wire brushes or grinders.
• Proficient in reading fabrication drawings.
• Identify shop drawing errors and discrepancies before or during early stages of fabrication.
• Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently in order to move materials.
• Have and maintain CWB certified welding tickets.
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Your Schedule

Full-time evening shift working hours are 11 hours per shift Monday to Thursday for a total of 44 hours per week.

Monday-Thursday: 3:30pm-3:00am

Friday-Sunday: Off
