Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) is a fast-growing vibrant organization committed to the development and progress of its Band Members and
Community. As such, the TteS invites applications from qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following position.


POSITION TITLE: Stsmemelt Law Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Community Services Division
SUPERVISOR: Community Services Assistant Manager
TERMS: Full-Time, One Year Term
REFERENCE #: 2023-025

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Stsmémelt is a movement that is based on Secwepemc traditional governance, legal traditional values, Secwépemc
stories, Secwépemctsín, and healing and family preservation.

Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc’s Stsmémelt Coordinator is responsible for working with the 11 communities in order to
establish a culturally appropriate integrated model of service delivery to care for and protect Secwépemc children and
families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct all administrative & logistics preparations for Community Engagements.
  • Conduct community-based research for capacity development & prevention services and prepare drafts of the
Secwépemc Nation Jurisdiction protocols.
  • Monthly communications/reporting to Chief and Council & community members as required.
  • Coordinating and facilitating any required community engagements.
  • Participating in any training as required.
  • Travelling and participating in the STWG tri-partite working group meetings; All other duties related to the role, or
as assigned by Chief and Council.



Professional Certification, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Must Have experience working in Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge of Family Law and principles

  • Ability to facilitate, engage and present at technical, leadership and community level.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage time, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • Strong tact and diplomacy.
  • Must have strong teamwork and cooperation, service orientation and problem solving and judgement skills.
  • Culturally sensitive/aware.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in Indigenous communities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Secwépemc culture and traditions.




HOURS OF WORK: Normal Day shifts – 7 hours. Non-normal shifts may be required.
PAY GRADE: $25.98-$27.34 depending on education & experience.
