Human Resources Intern

Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Administrator provides administrative support in the HR Department in the areas of office administration and recruitment & selection. This position is highly administrative.

Candidate must be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business and have completed their first year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Organize the HR storage rooms for audit preparation purposes and scanning/filing of documents as necessary.

· Orders office supplies and ensures a sufficient level of necessary office supplies for employees.

· Maintains the main external Kawneer telephone line, re-directing calls to appropriate employees and managers, and taking information down when appropriate.

· Update switchboard names and numbers of all telephones at the Kawneer Lethbridge facility; re-records greetings as necessary.

· Run HR reports for the department as appropriate.

· Attend various meetings and take notes when needed.

· Organize the Office Supply Room.

· Distributes mail to respective employees.

· Tracks all leaves and update for manpower purposes, including LTD, STD, etc.

· Recruitment calendar and recruitment metrics tool.

· Responsible for probation evaluation, implementation, and tracking.

· Other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications/Experience:

  • Exceptional Time Management skills and attention to detail.
  • Efficient and accurate when completing work.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-oriented position.
  • Excellent Communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite Computer Skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Enrolled in an HR related degree

Certificates & Licenses: None.

Work Environment/Conditions: Standard office environment with regular business hours from Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime may be required (Non-Exempt).
