Salary Range: $22-25/hr + Overtime at 1.5x hourly

Vacation: 4% (2 weeks)

Hours per Week: Normal work hours are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Description: Underhill Geomatics is a progressive land surveying firm with offices in Burnaby, Kamloops, and Whitehorse. Underhill provides technologically advanced, flexible, and efficient geospatial solutions for all our clients’ needs within western Canada and North America. We are involved in complex legal, construction, and engineering surveying projects across British Columbia and Yukon.

The Survey Assistant Position requires a personable individual who is highly organized, adept at setting priorities, with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate, under the supervision of senior personnel, will be trained for supporting the organization and daily operations of the office, assisting in the field, providing logistics for field crews, and supporting management and professional staff.

Job Duties:

• Assisting Surveyor with field tasks, including:
• setting up and putting away survey equipment
• loading and unloading equipment in the truck
• using survey equipment under the direction of their field supervisor (Survey Crew Chief)
• maintaining accurate field records of field tasks performed
• Basic Computer Skills
• Maintaining truck preparedness and cleanliness.
• Participation in Safety program, including completion of associated paperwork.
• Working outside in a variety of locations and in all weather conditions.

Position Requirements:

· Completion of high school level education

· Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract

· Ability to lift 40lbs and work outdoors

· Previous surveying experience an asset
