Apex Geomatics is looking for experienced Construction Surveyors for Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) camp-based positions throughout British Columbia and Alberta. Currently offering a strong incentive package for those joining our rapidly expanding team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Construction layout and as-builts utilizing Total Station and GPS.
  • Inspect, operate and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Record measurements and other information related to the survey work.
  • Complete daily field notes, sketches and reports according to job specifications and Apex operational procedures.
  • Full compliance and active participation in Apex Geomatics’ Health and Safety Program.
  • Adherence with quality assurance procedures and quality control practices.
  • Provide mentorship and training to assist with subordinate’s professional development.
  • Liaise with client representatives to coordinate survey work, priorities and deliverables.
  • Effective communication and flow of information from field to office.
  • As a representative of Apex Geomatics, you are to conduct yourself with a professional, cordial attitude with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Geomatics Technology or equivalent amount of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of Trimble RTK, Robotic Total Stations and related software.
  • Technical competence and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to process field data and day to day administrative tasks.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn new technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • CSTS 2020 Certification required.
  • Line Locating and Advanced UAV Pilot certifications are considered an asset.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre are also considered an asset.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.
