Please note that this position is 100% in-office (Abbotsford).

The Opening

We are looking to bring on a Project Manager for our Sprinkler Division for full-time employment. Our ideal candidate would have a background in Project Management and fire protection - someone with a keen eye for details and a knack for problem-solving while working with budgets and/or timelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Consult with designers, inspectors, engineers, customers, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Field Superintendent and/or Foreman for allocation of resources (scheduling) needed to meet objectives. Review the Equivalency Report (if applicable).
  • Develop project schedules and execute according to plan for assigned projects.
  • Prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance.
  • Complete project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client.
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Communicate project progress, issues and financial status.
  • Resolve disputes with minimal need for escalation.
  • Negotiate, prepare and issue subcontracts.
  • Attend job progress meetings as required.
  • Oversee project for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques.
  • Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Adhere to safety standards, local and national sprinkler and security codes.
  • Order specialty material as needed and participate in fabrication requests for projects.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Track and participate in drawing submissions and necessary permit applications as required.
  • Coordinate testing and ensure all closeout documents are obtained.
  • Schedule municipal/engineering inspections & ensure inspection cards are filed appropriately.
  • Ensure company safety policy is being enforced and documentation is provided by the foreman.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set by Escape Fire Protection.
  • Other duties as assigned.
