Position: Technologist

What You’ll Do:
Responsible for formulation and label development for animal nutrition premixes. Supports premix plant operations through regulatory compliance, development of ingredient specifications, approval of new ingredients, NIR, and quality monitoring of ingredients and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:
- Formulation and labelling of premixes for 4 NAA ANH blend plants, including modification of existing formulations.
- Regulatory compliance with AAFCO or CFIA Feeds Act
- Approval of ingredient sources via SQM Trackwise module, including sample evaluation, regulatory compliance and conducts HACCP analysis, FSMA and SHE risk assessments.
- Maintains Ingredient Risk Assessment (IRA), Approved Products List (APL), and Incoming Ingredient Checklist for use by Purchasing, Q&OE, and Blend Plant personnel
- Develop and maintain NIR testing programs for raw materials and customer premix.
- Supports account management, production and purchasing in areas of premix quality.
- SHE Duties & responsibilities: Display and promote positive safety behaviors at all times, use proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at highest safety levels; that all people in area (maintenance, quality, visitors, contractors, etc.) comply with safety directives and keep area neat and clean..
You bring:
- Master of Science Degree, specializing in Animal Nutrition
- A strong background in NIR technology
- Demonstrated knowledge of feed formulation and knowledge of feed ingredients.
- A proven understanding of micronutrients and their application in animal nutrition, and knowledge of complete feed requirements for all species.
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics
- Strong computer skills including prior experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in feed industry is required, preferably in ingredient quality area.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and management skills.
