MicroAge Kitchener is seeking a LOCAL IT Enthusiast to join our growing IT Services team assisting clients in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/Milton Area.

MicroAge provides managed services, system integration services, DELL and Microsoft technology solutions, Microsoft ERP and CRM support to clients within 50 km of our Cambridge Ontario offices (KW area, Georgetown, Mississauga, Brampton). The ideal individual would LOVE technology and be eager to learn. MicroAge encourages this candidate to work towards completing their COMPTIA A+ Certification and will provide compensation for its completion and/or pay for the cost of the course preparation.

  • A car allowance or compensation for use of your own vehicle is provided if working at remote locations.
  • Standard employee benefits are available after 3 months.
  • Owning your own vehicle is required.
  • Valid driver's license
  • A laptop will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work as part of our team to install computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware with the support of a trained technician either at the customer’s facility or prep at our location.
  • Boots on the Ground - Delivery and initial installer.
  • Act as point of contact for desktop and laptop support and troubleshooting for Managed Service clients.
  • Support Administrative & Technical Team as needed.
  • Some specialized tasks may require on-the job training
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Work towards completion of their COMPTIA A+ Cert.

  • Technology Enthusiast
  • Excellent prioritizing and communication skills
  • Customer service oriented, professional, courteous with a positive approach
  • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • High School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Physical ability to carry and maneuver hardware or equipment.
  • Good manual & technical skills
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed to keep current with the newest technology.
  • Experience with hardware installation (an asset)
  • Experience with software installation (an asset)

Work hours will be 9am to 5pm. Occasional Weekend & Evening Overtime. Expectation will be to work from the main office daily and provide onsite services to customers as required.

Salary: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
