Position: Therapeutic Caregivers – Contracted Home Share Providers

Locations: Kamloops, Prince George, or Williams Lake, BC

Earnings: $4000 - $6500 per month, plus respite and per diem per month (details below)

*Care for Persons Served will be in the Caregiver’s home*

Summary:

The Therapeutic Caregiver will provide comfort, encouragement, and daily support to the Persons Served. Our Persons Served are children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 who require a highly supportive living environment to manage mental health difficulties, addictions, and/or behavioral challenges.

The Therapeutic Caregiver, as a contracted home share provider, will provide a welcoming home environment that is inclusive and attentive to the unique needs of the individual(s). The Persons Served must be provided with their own private bedroom in the home that the Therapeutic Caregiver either owns, leases, or rents.

Due to the unique support requirements associated with this role, it is essential that no other children or youth be living in the home. This is an independent contractor position and a thorough screening assessment of each applicant will be conducted to meet the needs of the Persons Served. The Therapeutic caregiver will work with the team to identify potential respite providers to enhance supports to the Persons Served.

Becoming a Therapeutic Caregiver can be one of the most rewarding experiences in an individual’s life, both for the Therapeutic Caregiver as well as for the Persons Served. It can also be demanding and present occasional challenges. As part of the Axis team, Therapeutic Caregivers are provided with specialized training and ongoing support.
