The position at a glance

Global Banking Americas (GBA) is the core métier of the bank, where the business with Corporates happens.
Within GBA, the COO Office-Business Managers & Analysts are responsible to support transversal business activities. The team is composed of 3 employees in Montreal and about 10 in NY. The team contributes directly to the business development, support business decision-makers in achieving their strategic goals via meaningful content and purposeful execution, as well as ensure its sound operation. They also facilitate and optimize the interaction between the Front Office and its Business Partners.

We are looking for a smart, autonomous and energetic analyst who likes numbers and is comfortable with data management.


In detail


The business analyst is primarily responsible for maintaining and providing data/dashboards/KPIs related to GBA headcounts, expenses and revenues to business management. She/He will monitor the evolution of different metrics, propose and implement relevant controls, investigate and correct data inconsistencies.

The candidate will work closely with Product Lines and Coverage Lines, Business Management, Portfolio Management, Finance, IT, HR, Regulatory teams, Risk etc. He/she will act as a champion for the industrialization of data and processes, in his/her respective scope but also benefiting GBA in general. The analyst will implement or support the implementation of identified improvements.

The follow-up and improvements of the data flow, KPIs and dashboards will allow the analyst to support regulatory, budget and business strategic presentations by extracting accurate figures and highlighting key trends.

He/She will be involved in various projects to improve business processes overall and resolve day-to-day issues. The list can include and is not limited to: business restructuration, deal inputs system improvements, Office moves,…

As part of her-his functions, the analyst will ensure a strong relationship with the various stakeholders and teams and will be exposed to senior management level.


The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

Strong analytical skills – must know how to manipulate data and be comfortable with new tool/technologies. The candidate must be able to interpret, create and communicate underlying storylines behind the numbers. Excellent MS Excel and Power Point skills are required. Knowledge of Alteryx, Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to details and a capacity to communicate in a succinct fashion for senior management.

Reliable & Attentive to details – there is a lot of data manipulation and data monitoring and controls involved. Figures provided to the business must be accurate and explainable.

Autonomous, Collaborative & Engaged, with an ability to work well under pressure. This is required to navigate into a complex organization and to manage a lot of topics for & with different stakeholder with occasional tight deadlines. As such, an experience in project management would be a plus.

2-3 years’ experience in a financial environment is preferred.

Fluent English is required. French is a plus.
