We are currently looking for the right candidate to fill the position of Truck and Trailer Mechanic (Night Shift) position at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined
  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions
  • Perform routine maintenance services
  • Repair or replace shock absorbers and suspension components
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals,
  • Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated, and maintained,
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions,
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations, and
  • Document descriptions of vehicle problems, and discuss work to be performed and future repairs
  • Perform Trailer Alignments
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor not far outside my expertise and training.

Qualifications;

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Experience as a trailer technician an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred
  • Experience with various hand tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Welding or fabrication experience (preferred)
