Truck Driver (Toronto/Ottawa/Toronto)

Crescent Moon Transport is seeking a self-motivated transport truck driver to transport goods and materials on a Toronto/Ottawa/Toronto run.

· Candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday and will be expected to start their days from Toronto and end them in Toronto.

· Shifts may be during the day or night and will be determined at the start time. Candidates should be able to work either shift.

· There may be some weekend driving as an exception.

· Ideal candidates will be familiar with long haul trucks, have experience in the industry and clean driving records.

· Pay is based on a daily rate of $285

· Minimum 3 years Canadian driving experience (for insurance purposes)

· Must have clean COVR and driving records

· Must be able to provide an experience letter (for insurance purposes)

· Start and end in GTA will be Etobicoke or Brampton

Responsibilities include:

• Operating and driving long haul trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances
• Planning and executing trip logistics and obtaining required documentation to transport goods
• Performing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
• Overseeing the loading and unloading of goods
• Ensuring cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and following safety procedures for transporting goods
• Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Saving all invoices, bills and receipts and handing them in to the Director of Operations at the end of each day
• Administering bills of lading and manually or electronically maintaining log books
• Communicating with the Director of Operations, dispatcher, other drivers and customers (as required) using communication devices
• May perform emergency roadside repairs

Where you’ll be working…

This position will be based out of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and trips will originate from and conclude in the GTA. A daily run consists of a go/back trip. Typical work days are Monday through Friday with the possibility of occasional weekend trips.

• A secondary school diploma or equivalent
• A valid Ontario CDL driver’s license (Class AZ)
• Three or more years of Canadian work experience (as a truck driver)
• A clean driving record
• A clean CVOR driver abstract
• Ability to work Monday through Friday
• A mobile (cell phone) with nationwide calling

• Proof validating the ability to work in Canada (e.g. passport, permanent resident card)
• A mobile number that will be used for communications
• Ontario business name and number, including articles of incorporation
• A GST/HST number
