The Essex Terminal Railway is recruiting for its Motipark Limited site. Motipark is located in Windsor, Ontario and is a vehicle storage operation.

General Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for loading and securing new vehicles onto railcars, moving vehicles within the compound and to nearby off-site locations.

Essential Duties

· Inspect vehicles for damage

· Use of tablets or handheld scanners to record damages and vehicle locations

· Drive vehicles within the compound to/from staging areas

· Driver vehicles on public roads to locations < 15km

· Various other duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environment

· Adhere to all AAR and legislated safety standards and Customer regulations; e.g. PPE, speed, spacing, attire, etc.

· Train new employees and temporary workers (when applicable)

· Ability to react to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned

· Drive new customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient manner

· Secure new customer vehicles to rail cars by using chains or chocks as required by manufacturer

· Set-up rail car bridge plates, raise and lower rail car decks, open/close rail car doors and operate loading ramps

Minimum Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

· Able to follow directions, both written and verbal

· Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles

· Able to adhere to strict quality standards without variance

· Good visual and physical ability

· Knowledge of the use of hand tools (wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets, etc.)

· Must have a good sense of balance

· Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds over head

· Able to push, pull, or carry up to 85 pounds

· Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.

· Criminal Background Check

· Successful completion of Pre-placement Medical examination

Working Conditions

· Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Work with a team of other vehicle/rail associates

· Work in tight spaces on railcars

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $17.32-$18.69 per hour
