Tech-Wood is seeking a Wooden Truss Maker (NOC 9533). A Wooden Truss Maker is responsible for the timely and accurate assembly of finished trusses. The Wooden Truss Maker will be participating in routine truss shop maintenance and be actively involved in Tech-Wood’s Quality Control (Q.C.) and Health and Safety programs. Position Responsibilities:

· Truss orders will be built as per standard operating procedures or as directed by the Production Manager.

· Truss design layouts are to be inspected and thoroughly understood before building.

· Pre-cut lumber should be inspected and/or measured for proper length and possible damage or other irregularities associated with quality control and standard operating procedures.

· Thorough and complete organization of tools, materials, workstations, and cleaning and/or disposal of wasted is always required.

· Regular inspection and maintenance as required for tools and machinery.

· Routine lifting, repetitive hammering motions and getting up and down off the jigs.

· Safe work practices.

· All other duties as assigned by Production Manager

What You Bring:

· Able to use and maintain various hand tools

· Comprehension of technical layout design for trusses is required

· Basic math skills and the ability to use a metric/imperial tape measure is required

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma

· 1 year of construction experience

· Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Location: Rocky View, Alberta

Term of Employment: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: Commensurate with candidate's skills and experience

Schedule:

· Day shift

· Monday to Friday, 44 hours/ week

· Night shift
