Position: 1.0 FTE - Counselling Therapist - Brief Services

Location: Serving Leeds & Grenville (Brockville office)

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, flexibility is required, Monday to Friday

Reporting To: Kaveh Khanverdi, Program Director, Brief Services

Job Summary:
An opportunity to be part of a quick response team providing initial assessment, crisis response, and brief intervention to children, youth and families in person and over the telephone. The Counselling
Therapist will also provide service in the walk in clinics. Evening work will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a relevant social sciences field preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences or in a social sciences field;
  • Currently registered, or eligible for registration, in a relevant regulatory body (CRPO, OCSWSSW);
  • Experience in child/youth, group and family counseling in areas including (but not limited to) trauma, anxiety, suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention;
  • Experience in collaborating work with schools and community partners;
  • Experience and specialized training in the following areas is considered an asset: o Brief Solution Focused Therapy; o Narrative Therapy o Trauma Treatment o Play Therapy o Cognitive Behaviour Therapy o Dyadic Development Psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and community resources;
  • Outstanding client service and a family centred focus;
  • Demonstrated assessment skills;
  • Full use of a car and be able to transport clients and hold appropriate insurance; and;
  • Knowledge working with various computer programs including Microsoft Teams.

Salary:

  • Wage scale - $31.61/hour - $39.08/hour
