Location: For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in Canada.
About the opportunity
The Accounting Specialist will perform intermediate to somewhat complex accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable or credit/collections, fixed assets and intercompany support duties.
What you’ll get to do
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile selected statements.
  • Maintain accounts by identifying, verifying, and recording transactions.
  • Assists with determining methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting procedures.
  • Resolve any discrepancies with data prior to distribution.
  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of the accounting department.
  • May provide guidance to other non-exempt employees.

Skills and experience we value
  • Associate Degree. Requires accounting/finance course work.
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Able to perform intermediate mathematical/accounting operations
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook required with willingness to roll up your sleeves to resolve issues across the team
