Position Overview:

We are looking for candidates interested in joining our dynamic team. Currently we are hiring for our Administration position, a team dedicated for supporting families in a professional and courteous manner.

Hours: In this position you will work 7.5 hours a day for a total of 75 hours per 2 week pay period. This position works every other weekend. Working from our various locations.

What we offer:

  • Starting salary: $22/hr
  • Health and Dental benefits after 3 months (drug card, dental, travel etc.…)
  • Company Bonus after 6 months - up to 10% of base salary

  • Day 1/1 Month-New suits (dry-cleaning included), Dress Shoes, Dress Shirts
  • Day 1 – Start accumulating paid vacation days from the first day of employment.
  • 2 year– RRSP Matching - 3 weeks’ vacation (1 extra week above employment standards)
  • 5 year - Matching savings plan
  • 10 year- $1000 RRSP – 4 weeks’ vacation
  • 15 year- $1500 RRSP - Paid Sabbatical*

We are an independent, progressive funeral home that embraces new ideas, fresh approaches, and new technology. McInnis & Holloway has nine locations in the community and has been one of Calgary and southern Alberta’s most respected funeral homes since 1903.

Qualifications Required:

  • Strong administration and customer service skills and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel, and knowledge of Google Docs is preferred.
    • The ability to touch type (without looking at the keyboard)
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Extremely high ability to multitask-ability to pivot between tasks with ease.
  • Attention to detail is critical because of the volume and variety of documents that are produced or handled.
  • Comfortable working in close contact with the deceased.
  • Sensitivity to cultural practices is required.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and as part of a team.
  • Travel to other chapels as needed per scheduling.
  • Must be comfortable wearing the company uniform and maintaining professional grooming standards.
  • Weekend shifts are required as is staying later than shift end if the requirements of the business need to be met.
