Bodwell High School, a private boarding school founded in 1991 and located at the waterfront of North Vancouver, offers grades 8-12 to students from over 30 countries. Our Boarding Program offers a week-round youth development program for 350 on-site boarders. Candidates should review our program website (http://bodwell.edu/boarding/).

We are recruiting candidates for the position of Temporary Administrative Assistant for the Boarding Program beginning immediately. This is a unique administrative position, as this individual will work closely with the youth living in our Boarding Program. We require someone with strong administrative skills and experience working with youth.

The shifts are Monday - Friday 8am-4pm.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computers skills with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Pt, etc.
  • Skilled in using internet, website updates and social media
  • Proficient in all basic office procedures and office equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Strong ability to be organized and multitask in a busy environment
  • Experience working with children or youth is an asset

Daily Tasks will include:

  • Provide general daily administrative support to the Boarding Admin Team, including calendar management, typing, copying, monitoring incoming emails, calls, couriers, etc.
  • Maintaining and managing office organization, staff mailboxes, room keys, student fobs, lanyards, etc.
  • Designing and maintaining office storage, boarding resources and office decor.
  • Coordinate on-call staff coverage.
  • Assist with updating Sharepoint, bulletin board and hall signage.
  • Organize and maintain boarding receipts and expenses.
  • Take students to necessary appointments
  • Waking students up each morning and ensuring they get to school on time
  • Monitor students during breakfast and lunch
  • Managing our quarantine and arrivals logistics, as students will be arriving year-round due to covid-19

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $3,600.00 per month

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • North Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Administrative Assistants & Receptionists: 1 year (preferred)
  • Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
