Richco Contracting Ltd., a well-established civil construction company based out of Langley, is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team!

Richco is a civil construction company who specializes in underground utilities, in-stream, and road works. Our casual office environment has 5-7 people, while the remainder of our crews are field-based.

We are seeking an entry-level Administrator who is looking to learn and grow their skills with our in-office team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support services, with room to expand your career within.

Reporting to the Lead Administrator and other senior staff, the Administrative Assistant performs the following duties:

  • Answering phone calls (Internal transfers, taking & relaying messages, or calls)
  • Answering all incoming emails for general inquiries; printing/forwarding emails for distribution when/where needed
  • Receiving invoices, printing, or copying for appropriate filing, including digital filing methods
  • Stationary Orders and refilling office supplies as needed, stocking printers.
  • Updating various communications and distributing to appropriate staff
  • Gather, sort, and distribute daily mail to the appropriate contacts.
  • Assisting management with document printing and distribution; adding logos or letterhead to documents, filling & sign PDF documents when requested
  • Completing any Microsoft Excel, Word, or Adobe PDF document creation as well as other formatting tasks
  • Monitoring shop/office cameras; check for people coming and going, deliveries, security & safety.
  • Receive job material slips, compare to site dailies, ensure accuracy and file.
  • Processing time off requests and informing employees of the results; adding notifications to the company calendar, sending out notification to all staff.
  • Completing requested tasks in an organized, prioritized manner
  • Other general office assistance, as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a dynamic administrative role or similar field; construction or a related industry would be an asset.
  • Well versed in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; an aptitude for computer systems / technology would be greatly preferred.
  • Solid keyboarding skills with the attention to detail to find and correct errors in documents; high attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with a proven ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent customer service focus, with an ability to work collaboratively with others; outgoing personality.
  • Capable of understanding and following written procedures; a can-do attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must love dogs.

Work Conditions:

This is an hourly, office-based position within our Aldergrove Head Office; our general office hours are 7:30 - 4:30, Monday to Friday. We are seeking a candidate who is the right fit for this new role in our company! With that, we are open to those seeking full time or part time hours (with the potential for full time in the future). Richco provides competitive wages and extended benefits.
