This position may be located in any SDPR office that has space: Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Campbell River, Coquitlam, Cranbrook, Duncan, Fort St. John, Grand Forks, Hope, Kamloops, Kelowna, Langley, Maple Ridge, Merritt, Mission, Nanaimo, Nelson, New Westminster, Quesnel, Oliver, Penticton, Port Alberni, Powell River, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Richmond, Sechelt, Smithers, Surrey, Terrace, Trail, Vancouver, Vernon, Victoria, Williams Lake (subject to operational requirements and space availability).

The Strategic Services Branch supports the Division’s strategic planning process, legislation, policy, service delivery, and system implementations, stakeholder relations and, optimization and modernization of services.

The Policy Interpretation & Coordination Analyst is responsible for administering the Ministry’s Policy and Procedure Manual, drafting/reviewing policies and procedures, researching stakeholder and policy issues, supporting strategic projects and recommending policy and procedural changes.

The Policy Coordination and Interpretation Analyst is highly organized, detail oriented and independently manages their work and competing priorities. The analyst manages timely records management, edits, approvals and posting of policy updates supported by their knowledge of BC Employment and Assistance acts, regulations and policy. The analyst researches information to support policy interpretation and is able to identify and communicate risks and misalignment that support policy updates, project work and service delivery processes.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-Secondary Degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Public Administration or Social Sciences AND two (2) years’ related experience; OR
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in an unrelated field AND three (3) years’ related experience; OR
  • Secondary School Diploma or GED equivalent AND four (4) years’ related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Experience must Include all the following:

  • Experience reviewing policy issues in a service delivery environment.
  • Experience preparing and providing written summaries related to legislation, policy or complex service delivery issues.
  • Experience working with colleagues and/or stakeholders to resolve complex policy or service delivery issues.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with a minimum of 2 years experience working with BC Employment Assistance legislation and policies.
