Apprentice/Journeyperson Welders - RETENTION - LOA Job at WorleyCord

WorleyCord Teamco Ltd., a subsidiary of WorleyCord Ltd., is seeking Welder apprentice/journeypersons to work with our Team in Blackfalds, AB. We are looking for welders to work both in our Robotic Welding shop as well as our yard. This is not a structural welding position, this is for piping, fit-up and alignment.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Apprentice/Journeyperson Card for Welding from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Must have piping/fabrication experience
  • Robotic welding experience would be an asset but we will train
  • Rigging experience would be an asset but we will train
  • GMAW Root Tacking experience would be an asset but we will train
  • Experience working with overhead cranes
  • ABSA Pressure Tack Welder Certification would be an asset
  • Must possess valid CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification (this is a free online course through ACSA)
  • Must possess WHMIS2015 (this is a free online course through ACSA)
  • ESC Elevated Work Platform is an asset
  • ESC Fall Protection is an asset
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Previous Modular experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in securing components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Assist in the selection appropriate equipment and plan the layout and assembly of a welding process.
  • Have basic knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
  • Assist in securing of parts in position for welding.
  • Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder.
  • Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.
  • Assist in the repairing of products by dismantling, straightening and reshaping.
  • Reassemble parts using cutting torch, straightening press and hand tools.
  • Follow oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be primarily outdoors
  • 5/2 shift *subject to change
  • 10 hours/day
